Is it fine that I don't want to care for my parents when they're old?

  • That's just wrong dude... They raised you and probably helped you out a lot in life. The least you can do is return the favor.

I'm proud to say I will take care of my parents. Because I know how much love they have for me. I'm an only child, their only son and they would do anything for me and I would do anything for them.
They raised me since I was a baby, did the best they could to make me into the man I am today. They always helped me in any way they could. Hell, my dad was even my part-time accountant and answered the phone for my business when I started out... He didn't have to do it, but he did. For 7 months straight, without pay. I did buy him a boat for his 60th birthday and I joked this was his salary XD

My mom gave up on her career as a translator and part-time teacher to be at home for me and my dad. Every day I came home from school, she was there at the door with a smile on her face, a warm home cooked meal on the table and lots of love.

I'd fly to Andromeda and back for my parents if I have to! Taking care of them in their old age is nothing compared to what they did for me.

The only problem I would have is the emotional side of things... I know my parents ain't getting any younger, but it would tear me apart watching them live out their final days.
Probably gonna start drinking a lot more then. I'm ok with accepting my death, but I do not want my parents to die.
