Yeah I think that's fair enough. You have your own life to live, you're not just a retirement plan for your parents. You shouldn't have to feel guilty for that. Yeah they looked after you when you were a child but that was because that was their responsibility to, since they were the ones who decided to have you in the first place. Looking after a child you decided to create doesn't make you a fantastic person, it just makes you a decent person. So you don't owe them anything there really. You never agreed to be created and you never agreed to look after them in return. That doesn't make you a bad person, obviously you'll still love them and phone them and visit them often. So you're not being harsh in the slightest. I think expecting without doubt for someone to put their entire life on hold to look after you is appalling.
