Is it considered malestation

Okay a long time ago(around two years ago) my family made friends with this other family, they were around the same age as us, my sister even started dating their son. The father who's name is Rick hit on my mother and tried to get her to have sex with him, my mom refused to be around him alone now. Then around a year ago he kissed my sisters neck and hit on HER, (she was around 16, he was around 60) and then just last week we were going to watch a movie, and we went in my fathers car(which is an el Camino) so there was only three seats, I sat in the middle and when he was trying to buckle up I felt him grab my butt, strait up and it didn't feel like an accident. I screamed and jumped up and he apologized and my dad wouldn't hear that he had done that, is this considered malestation or is it just frowned upon?

Is It Normal?

  • Yes he is trying to molestnot only you but your family.
You need to report his actions.
In future he may end up being carved with a blunt blade and his organs fed to his pet animal.
There 'are' people who would do this to a molester.

  • I understand the feelings. You do need to tell someone. How is your relationship with your mom? Could you text her and say that you have something hard to talk about and are afraid you are going to cry? Maybe not going into it cold will be easier. If my kids texted me something hard to talk about I would let them use that format rather than talking right away. Hugs, Sweetie. Anything that makes you feel bad and infringes on YOUR body is wrong and you have every right to make it stop.

  • I suggest you tell your mother because it sounds as if she's worked him about, whereas your father is making excuses for him

  • It's a Perversion that is quite Common but not Normal.

  • Its molestation and if you dont do something about it hell do it to other people. A 60 year old man clearly doesnt see a 16 year old girl as a fellow adult. Id go to his house and hit him with a hammer or something if i was you. Or if youre a girl tell your dad or a male friend.

    • What stupid stupid STUPID advice ..... this is a teenager who can't even talk about it without crying and she should go and hit a 60 year old predator with a hammer?

Shut up if you can't be more realistically supportive than that

      • I didnt know the op was a girl i just meant thats what i would do if some 60 year old man tried it on with my 16 year old sister.
I almost did when i found out my sister and her friends were partying in some 40 year old mans house. He was her friends uncle but he was drinking and taking drugs with kids and i heard he made sexual remarks to some of them.

    • And that is one of the comments always listed as TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE AND LACKING EMPATHY in expert advice on how to give useful support.

If you're trying to support someone and not make them feel worse, focus on how they're feeling about whatever happened to them, not irrelevant abstractions such as "it could've been worse" - that minimises what they're feeling.
