  • It's called wisdom, not fear.

A wise person does not intentionally get themselves into dangerous and negative situations that they know they may not be able to handle, if there are other alternatives.

A wise person can learn from other's mistakes and apply them to their own life.

    Fools don't do that.

Now we are all somewhat foolish in life - and the sooner we recognize that the sooner we start becoming more wise. In my case I had to become more wise than was normal at a very young age as I was buying all my own cloths by age 14, and I started buying some of them at age 12. I mowed lawns, shoveled snow, painted, and all kinds of other household jobs.

Because of that wisdom, and learning to appropriately judge risks, I have literally stood on top of mountains that most people would never attempt and also was an Official or Judge at 2 World Championships and 1 Olympics in the sport I was involved in.

I also happen to know many people where their entire family do not drink alcohol, and a number of world level athletes. Not drinking alcohol is more common than you think.

You don't need alcohol or drugs to succeed. You do need self control.
