Coming from a female it's okay to ask. You could even turn it into a sexual teaching lesson with your partner that would be fun. There is nothing wrong with wanting to learn what your partner likes and wanting to provide that for them. If the guy you are into is mature he will be totally fine with that and will actually be very appreciative of you.
