I never had one but I also never gave it much thought I went to a few tho. Some were quite elaborate while others were more like go to a amusement park then dinner and a slumber party.
I think some ppl make a big fuss becos its sort of a milestone but I never gave it much thought becos my family didn't do much even for the traditional holidays and birthdays were just a cake and a couple gifts never elaborate affairs.
If you feel slighted becos you didn't get one I'm sorry you feel that way sometimes parents can be clueless about what is meaningful to there kids. I know mine certainly could be that way.
