Is is it normal gold a rip-off?

Sometimes, I think is it normal Gold is a rip-off. I'm going to tell you why.

1. Your post(s) can get moderated earlier than the ones belonging to people without Gold.

Rebuttal 1: Well, sometimes your post can be moderated in about and hour or so anyway. (Note: I'm just saying "sometimes", not "all the time", so take note. :P)

2. You can gain immediate access to the live chat as a new member.

Rebuttal 2: You won't need that, if you have patience.

3. You can put pics on your post(s).

Rebuttal 3: Pictures are nice, but they're not "vital". Your post can live without them.

4. You can private message people without Gold.

Rebuttal 4: Then private message someone WITH Gold! Or wait for someone to give you or that person Gold! You can ask for their email, or speak to them in the comments, the chat, etc.! So many free options!

5. You can view posts during moderation.

Rebuttal 5: You might think this is a good one, right? But there are enough "already-moderated" posts on IIN! There must be THOUSANDS of them by now! Or more! IDK.

6. This list.

Rebuttal 6: You probably won't have enough time on is it normal to use your Gold, if you still have school, work, etc.

Have I missed anything? Do YOU agree with me? (Note: This was just based on my opinion, so if you disagree, don't curse.)

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I would purchase gold not for the perks, but rather to support the website.

      • You have a point on everything other than 2 and 4. Some people do not ever get access to chat, and 4 some people only want to chat with their friends and their is no guarantee those people will get gold. You cant expect someone is just going to get it. Gold is either a gift or you have to buy it. I think PMs should be free and not a Gold only standard. The gold thing ruins your conversation because you can be having one and suddenly that person runs out of gold. That is a pain.

  • I just read about it, and to me it seems like a way to support the site -- in turn, you get a few extras for supporting IIN. It doesn't sound like a ripoff, but rather an incentive to help maintain this place. The incentives, however, aren't interesting enough to buy, say, $50 worth of IIN Gold. As it stands now, $5 isn't too much to try it out, but I think better, or more features would make it more appealing to some people.

    • I'll have to answer this for you...

What it was trying to say was that you can PM people that already have Gold...

  • I agree and also disagree. I have my reasons that I don't want to explain.
