I lost my sibling about 1 1/2 years ago, and there are still moments when it feels like it'd happened just the day before. That pain never goes away and joyful moments lose some of their rapture because you know someone isn't there to share the moment with you.
However, if you feel that your grieving is seriously hindering your ability to move forward in life, I encourage you to research the term "Complicated Grief", and see it resonates with you.
