Is dna programmed? ..if so, who or what programmed it?

Our DNA is a code for proteins. It instructs enzymes to make certain proteins. These proteins then go on to make up larger structures, eventually forming our entire bodies. DNA is a molecule, and was first formed through some chance chemical reactions. At this time, the proteins it made formed very simple organisms. But it eventually evolved through natural selection to form more and more complex organisms.

Also, although natural selection sounds like some intelligence is actively selecting for more advantageous traits, these traits are actually "selected" from just the less advantageous traits dying off due to not surviving.
