I always say that to guys when I like them. I tell them they're really cute and I only rarely use the word handsome. It's not the same as when I talk about a kitten or something. You should take it as a compliment.
Handsome is too formal, and kind of old-fashioned.
Cute can come off as emasculating, however. I don't get girls who have an obsession with this word. My girlfriend uses it often, much to my irritation...
Pretty much any other word that describes what it means to you when you say the word 'cute' to a guy. Even 'handsome,' old fashioned though it may be, is still a better alternative. Lol.
It is a bit emasculating, but I'm fine with it I guess. It's just that it's all people say so I was a little suspicious of weather or not it was a real complement.
Is "cute" a real complement?

Now I'll feel self-conscious when I use it :/ What word do men prefer?
