Is "bicurious" a sexual orientation?

Because I hear people talk about it like it is, and it doesn't make sense to me.

I thought bicurious just meant you were unsure if you were bisexual or not. With the implication being that you might be up for some experimentation to find out.

It is the limbo of sexualities. It should not be considered a constant state of sexuality. I usually just tell people I'm 25% lesbian.

  • No, it isn't.

One reason being, the more words we attach to singled out things the less they end up meaning. Less definition you see sonny.

I'm probably bicurious I've done things with guys but I don't want to be in an emotional relationship with them.

    • See, this is the kind of usage I don't understand. You've already "done things" with a man, so isn't your curiosity satisfied now? Either you liked it or you didn't.

So wouldn't it make more sense to just say you're "mostly straight" or if you want to be more specific, "bisexual but heteroromantic"?

Thanks for the answer though, I think you helped me understand what some people mean by this.

If it makes you happier to have a label then label away, I don't need a label I think they create differences between people when really we are a the same

        • You were the one who labeled it in the first place. I'm just quibbling with your choice of label.

    That's what I thought.
