    Not from being thumbed down you can't, but you can have your commenting privileges revoked or limited for a while.

      What causes this to happen?

      I'm curious because I seem to have a barnacle forming on my hull and if that behaviour doesn't get one booted or banned, then I can't imagine what would or could.

        Your comment karma will decrease if: •Your comments get more thumbs Down than Up
        •Your comments DO get reported (And the moderators agree with the report and remove the comment. Incorrect reports will negatively affect the reporter's karma, beware.))

        Because of the diamondgirl troll a couple of years ago now, I think. Or maybe one.

        It's not technically a ban, unless you're saying your account was deleted, but that didn't seem like what you were describing. Sounded more like you're referring to having your comment "allowance" restricted.
