    • Adam was not quite the same in each of his films. He was crazy in Happy Gilmore, even crazier in Drunk punch love but less childish. In Anger management, he was ironically at his most mellow, which I know was the ironic joke of that film, even though Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson) told Adam that he had implosive, not explosive Anger (he'd be the quiet cashier who'd snap and shoot everybody in the store). Adam was at his most annoying in Billy Madison, more childish and less crazy than in Happy Gilmore. So childish and annoying that I kept wishing for someone to knock him out (which that cute gradeschool teacher he liked ended up trying to do to him at one point). Adam was so annoying in Billy Madison, him slurping his soup, his baby talk to the shampoo and conditioner, his nonsensical jabbering to his imaginary penguin, his annoying back to school song he sung in that annoying voice, his making fun of a third grader who couldn't read, the embarrassingly horrible way he stormed out of the classroom so childishly during spelling on the blackboard, and many other bad moments with him. Now Chris Farley, he had a funny role in that movie as the bus driver. I also liked Farley in Tommy Boy. He knew more than Adam how to be abrasively comedic without making it so annoying.
