Yes, I am aware of those pregnancy crisis center misinformation and religious cult recruitment places.
Another tactic that they use, is they use lobby groups to enact legislation to purposely delay early abortion. As soon as a female becoomes pregnant, her body quickly undergoes a series of hormonal changes to prepare her for motherhood. This not only changes her body, but also changes her mind. The longer a woman is pregnant, the more likely it is she will want to keep the child. They know this. It is imperitive that if an abortion is necessary, that it should be done as soon as possible.
These types of practices must be stopped for the benefit of all females. Remember that sometimes an abortion is necessary due to complications in the pregnancy, and sometimes these laws can delay an abortion procedure, thus putting her life at risk.
Honestly I don't see why the government (or anyone else) should have any say in what people do to their bodies. Because it IS their body. It's the womans body that changes to suit a baby that couldn't live without her. It gets air and food from her, it's inside her, and it couldn't survive without her making those changes to suit it's need. I think once the fetus gets past the viable stage (where it could potentially live on it's own) that abortion should no longer be an option without the risk of the mothers life.
Thats just my opinion, though. Seeing as the fetus could live on it's own it'd no longer HAVE to depend on her body. Although, mortality rates are really high at the beginning point in which this happens (I think it's like the seventh month.. The last trimester for sure.)
You have asked a valid question.
Why the government interferes in a medical and health issue. Basically, it is usually because these so-called pro-life activists have used lobby and political pressure groups to persuade goverments to enact legislation to support (their usually) unfounded and twisted views that is usually based on an organized religious creed. In many cases, the elected or appointed government officials, are affiliated with these groups. It is also, quite often, more difficult or legislatively impossible to repeal these laws. Also, when a politician is asked about the abortion issue, they simply state that they are either pro-choice or pro-life. Neither, will do anything to solve the greater problem at hand, because they all view this as political suicide. Another reason, is that the silent majority stays silent on this issue, such that these vocal pro-life extremists prevail. We must stay silent no longer. The future of our life, and all life on Earth is at stake.
The solution is to raise the higher question. Simply ask every elected official this question, "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO SOLVE THE OVERPOPULATION PROBLEM?"
Do not take a "no" or a refusal to answer as an answer. Keep asking. Do not take,"We'll study the problem" as an answer. Watch for politicians that cleverly try to change the topic. Point out that that is not a solution. Ask again. Do your research, some will try to sell the idea that overpopulation is not a problem; refute this. Only a clever and enlightened politician will include abortion law reform as part of a package to solve this crisis. Vote for them. Do not ask this question to politicians that you support mostly. Instead, ask this question to politicians you most despise.
DO NOT ACT ALONE. Keep your identity secret. Use your 'secret weapon' to raise this issue; Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites and public forums. Use email and letter writing campaigns only if you're organized or when it becomes widespread. Make it a public issue.
I think preventative care should be stressed. I just seen a post here about a THIRTEEN year old girl who wanted to have sex with her boyfriend.
Maybe start Sex Ed earlier. Show the birthing video to those kids, show them how much kids cost. How much of their lives they'll have to give up. Repeat this every year till about 17-18 years old and then start pushing for 'safe sex' and contraceptives. With some of the condoms they make now 'it doesn't feel natural' just doesn't cut it.
Please copy and keep the above.
