Maybe they do sort of feel it counts as murder? I don't know; I doubt that my thoughts about it not being murder are the norm, so maybe those couples do think it counts as murder, even if they think it is the right decision. It is a big step to take, they are bound to have doubts once you've taken it as to whether it was the right decision.
Besides, biologically it is always a negative to lose your offspring unborn, because your genes will not be passed on. Maybe that is which causes the guilt? I've never been in that situation, I can only work off instinct.
