  • No a hotdog is not a sandwich, it's a long bread roll with a sausage in it (and in New York, sauerkraut and yellow mustard), they slip a sausage behind all these fancy ingredients, when in Australia a hotdog has ketchup, barbeque sauce, hot English mustard, or American mustard, or sweet chili sauce or hot chili sauce, nothing else added except perhaps butter, maybe some onions, and that's it. An Australian hotdog, which is very plain, although we now have chili dogs and hotdogs with cheese sauce in them, but I prefer a Swedish hotdog of just a sausage in a bun with Swedish mustard and that's it, you get this from Ikea.
