I believe it is a type of sandwich. Not a traditional one, but still belonging to the same family of foods.
I'm sure many of you will disagree, but to me anything between bread, or wrapped in any other flatbed is a sandwich and also fast food. That includes wraps, burritos, burgers, tacos, donner kebabs, etc.

To me, it only qualifies as a fast food sandwich when it's made and bought at a restaurant. If I'm at home making it, it's just a regular sandwich.
