Boo!! Bad answer. Ass-kissing doesn't make up for personality. Be nice, be friendly and tip a normal amount based on the comlexity of the drink. The bartender will appreciate it just fine. Tipping excesssively has it's drawbacks. Trust me.
Just tip appropriately, every time you're served, for the type of drink you're served. The bartender will notice. No need to be flashy, that can be a big turn-off or annoyance....some people who do that tend to think they're 'above' everyone else in the bar and that's not so.
A good bartender will serve everyone properly, tip or no tip. If you're getting shitty service, just leave....don't tip more.

That's what I was referring to....not necessary, and it will backfire. Firstly, the bartender is going to see you as their 'payday' and not so much as a friend or cool person. I'd do a heck of a lot more for a person who tipped properly and was cool, nice and polite over someone who thought they could buy service. Then what happens on nights when you're short on cash, and you don't tip like usual? The bartender starts to think 'well, the money's dried up, so fuck this guy...' Just tip normal and avoid all that. Nobody likes an ass kisser.
true a good worker will always finish strong, but the fact is, if your known to over tip, you get taken care of. when you go to a place you should always try to get the same server or bartender. It works out for both parties.
Is a dollar per each 5-8 dollar drink a good tip? (Alcohol)
