Is 5'8 short for a guy or seen as average height?

It’s not a noticeably short height. Average height is like 5’10 I think.

I think that 5'8" would be pretty normal for both, men and women. Some might consider it borderline short for a guy and borderline tall for a female.

Height doesn't make you a true man.

If you feel you're inadequate for whatever reason, then your body language is going to show it and everyone will see your lack of confidence. Your lack of confidence in yourself is going to snowball into huge insecurities that's going to make your social/dating life very hard.

If a woman really likes you, they aren't going to care about your height or weight, but see the person you are. If you can live happily with what you got, then women will see that and love that about you.

5'8 is pretty average. My bf is 5'11 I'm 6'1 few coworkers my height. Most are his height or shorter

I’d say “short” starts at 5”6 for a man and 5”2 for a woman here. Not that being short is a bad thing.
