I have noticed multiple times, that when I turn my iPhone off, it seems to become lighter in weight. This past time, it turned off when I wasn't looking (low battery) and I knew it had turned off before looking at it. When I turn the thing off, it gradually loses weight, then it feels almost hollow.
You must have gotten a prototype of the iPhone that runs on a hybrid power source of electricity and CO2. When your phone powers off, it releases all the CO2 built up from you talking into it.
