My cousin married someone they met online, my friend married someone they met online and wait for it..wait for...I'm engaged to someone I met online (shocker). We talked for 2 years straight online and when we finally met, it was awesome. We've been together for 6 years and are super happy.

I met my husband on yahoo chat. I was scared to try dating that way, but it has really worked out. We got to know each other as friend first, and that has made all of the difference. We met for the first time after talking via the net, and by phone for 6 months. That was in 2004. We have been together almost 7 years and married for 4. We met at a mall on our first meeting in person.

As long as you do it safely, it's no problem to date someone you meet on the internet. Meet at a public place.

I met my boyfriend on surprisingly 4chan. It was a Canada post, and we each revealed our Area Codes, and started chatting. It's all anonymous so it was hard, but we exchanged emails right before the post disappeared. Ended up talking straight for 3 days, added eachother on facebook, realized we had friends in common, and decided to meet a day later.

He was going to school in Ontario two weeks later, flew me up for two weeks to see if a relationship could be possible, we clicked amazingly. And he moved back home at the end of it and is doing something else here. It's going amazingly, and I'm very happy. Online works if you're willing to put in the effort.

I "date" someone from the internet for 10 years, only got to see him once. I wouldn't recommend it. You never know what the other person is doing when he/she is so far away.

i would never do it myself. but my father has done it and in the course of 10 years has fallen in love twice....in person of course.

...Well, all I know is that it's not something for me. If it works with other people, and other people are ok with it, then it's fine.

Depends, right? if you're true and not a desperate-ass liar, you're all good.

    Be smart.

I think it's fine to date someone online as long as you're caeful and one is willing to move for the other eventually.. and i think you should be friends for awhile first and you should see them on cam and talk on the phone (can never be too careful)

I think its fine to find someone via the internet, but be careful, It is easy to be decieved over the internet, and some people dont know exactly how to decribe themselves. Make sure you get to meet them face-to-face before you start dating, that way, you can really get to know each other, and decide whether to go further.

i've met a few guys off the net and basically all they want is to get you into a sex relationship,, they will take you for dinner and even drink , maybe offer shopping with you and buy cool cloths but at the end of it all comes sex ... i highly doubt guys are searching relationship from girls on the net ... its like a scocially accepted form of prostitution basically

I think online dating is fine. just check them out.. make sure they dont fool you. I dated a guy (kinda) for about half a year online. We webcammed and talked on the phone. I always wondered why his voice was so high.. and why he had such a feminine face. One day he admitted he was a girl. Which I am ok with.. but the fact that she lied? No.. We broke up.
