Interested in drug addicts and mentally ill. normal?

I like to watch that show Intervention and I have a fascination with drug addicts on the show. They seem mysterious. I also can sort of realte to them. I've had my troubles such as being a loner, parents splitting up and mental illness such as OCD and schizophrenia.

I'm usually a happy go lucky guy and I've resolved some issues. I don't know why I'm interested in stuff like this still?

Is It Normal?

  • You're normal or the shows wouldn't still be on the air. They are interesting. The human mind can be quite fascinating.

  • I'm not sure mysterious is the right word in describing drug addicts. "caught in patterns of self destruction" seems more appropriate, don't you think?

  • I would just consider it a normal interest. I am sure thatshow therapists and people in the mental health field started. Plus its even more interesting since u can relate.

  • I'm the same way when it comes to that as well. Intervention is like one of my fav shows and I love watching shows on serial killers too. Also when I was a younger, my parents worked with people that were mentally ill and when I visited them, I was quite scared yet interested in them. Now I'm more interested and oddly I grew some type of wierd respect for them...tbh I feel like I can relate to them to at times.

    Soooo yeah its normal.

  • I watch all the forensic programmes and those about serial killers. So much so, that I am afraid to go to bed. Yet, I hate medical programmes and am not a murderer, so I think you're normal.
