Inn to laugh at sad things?

A few minutes a go I was texting my gf about my cat who is going to get put down. As I was reading her responses (all very sincere) I realized I was chuckling to myself. It's more of an awkward laugh I find, but the same thing happened when I heard my mom tell my aunt that a dog had bitten the face of my less then a year old niece. I swear I'm not a phycopath, I feel like I just don't know what else to do.

Is It Normal?

  • Processing emotional and mental shock can manifest itself in different ways. It's why when we feel pain we laugh, or cry at something wonderful. Our expression can sometimes appear to conflict with the expected reaction to an event. Perfectly normal. Everyone is different. Laugh now, cry later or vica versa. Do what is right for you.

  • We all deal with grief and emotional shock in different ways. One of those ways is in venting a little pressure through things like laughter. It may feel a little insane, but it's totally normal. Don't sweat it.

    Sorry about your cat.

  • Youre either stupid, nervous, an asshole, or immature.
