Inflation is just a tax

Im not very educated in economics but it seems to me that inflation is just another tax. If the government doesnt have enough money to pay for something they can just print more which inevitably causes the money in your bank account to be worth less. So you think you are only getting taxed just through income tax but inflation is also your tax. Kind of like a ponze-scheme

Inflation is worse. Your money is devalued. So food costs more while you get paid the same.

5% of everyone's money as well as future and past money. Whether you had $5 or $500,000 the effect was still the same.

No, a tax is a form of rent you pay the government for living on their land. Inflation is merely what happens when the government attempts to create more currency. Inflation does raise the amount paid in taxes, though.

    • Yeah but if the government needs money and they dont want to raise your taxes they just print the money and then you pay for it and you dont even think you're getting taxed and you're ok with it. So instead of taxing people more they can just print more money. It still is taking your money from you. Its 5% inflation this year. Thats 5% tax on your yearly income.

Taxes actually pay for the printing of new money. It takes materials to print money, and if the government has no money to purchase those materials, they have to get the money from taxes. So, in a way, taxes make you pay to increase inflation.
