In to that my bf's hair reminds me of bran?

Lately, I've been thinking that my bf's hair is is the same color as bran. So when he told me how much he likes raisin bran, I thought 'Wow, how fitting'. So when I told him that his hair was bran-colored,he said he didn't like that. When I asked him why, he responded "Because it's cereal." Is it normal that his hair reminds me of bran? In fact, it's not just his hair, it's the whole back of his head.
