Im teaching my child santa is fake

Western tradition is to teach your children to believe that some man climbs down your chimney to give you handouts for being good. I will not teach my children this and it has caused many arguments with my and my wife's family. I just want to raise my children to be complex thinker. And in reality if someone is actually coming down your chimney he isnt coming to give you free shit. Hes coming to rob you.

I personally believe that teaching my children santa claus is real is contradictory to the way I want them to think. I want them to question everything. And to me Santa Claus is like a religion. In reality you are not really rewarded for being good. Its something you do because its the right thing. And you should NEVER expect handouts. No one is going to give you handouts for being a good person. I just really dont agree with it and I feel it is indoctrination but my son is at the age where its time to teach him and my family is furious I will not do Santa.

Id like to hear others opinions on the matter.

They're your kids and you're allowed to not want to feed them a lie. A lot of kids who were taught Santa is real actually get really upset when they learn that it was all a lie to get them to behave.

Santa is based of a real dead dude. Santa never existed to begin with it was used to brainwash little children.

It's pretty normal. I feel Santa isn't important to kids unless you make him important.
