If you have siblings, they must hate you :-) "I'm always right"! That's your meme. Okay, I shall print you an award from my awesome Epson inkjet. You're very useful, you know. Serious.
So studious, you are. Good trait. Many people lack this kind of inquisitiveness.
We're kids for so long to learn things? Noooo. When do people magically spring from child to adult? What magical date? 18? 21? 12? We kind of mature on a growth phase until around 25, hit a prime spot, then nosedive after that. That's the model anyways. Learning is life long. The brain is remarkably adaptable. You can see this with people that recover from stokes, accidents, what not.
Humans have to learn things? Yes. Some more, others less. It depends on a variety of factors. If that person is the Dalai Lama, he has so many servants, he doesn't have to learn to hunt, fish, or much else. Individual curiosity determines the rest.
Learn which plants are poisonous? Most Americans don't know their food actually comes from the earth. They're only familiar with packaged stuff that gets microwaved. I'm guessing, in the wilderness, a village idiot taste tests plants. If he dies, its poisonous.
Learn to build shelter? Is that an essential skill in 2015 in the USA? If yes, this must be an Amish person or a wilderness survivalist? Americans are more concerned about hunting for free WiFi.
Healing plants? Herbalist or Big Pharma?
Birds don't learn to build nests from an instruction book. Its still on the table as a theory that they may learn this by modeling the behavior. Totally probable. Its still heavily on reliant on instinct. Its amazing too.
Wow... look im responding to you because you are debating something with me...not because I "have to be right" by using that logic you must be just dyeing to be right! Since at least in this conversation I responded to someone else and you hopped on in with your 2cents.
I have 2 brothers who love me for your information...
but id be surprised if you have anyone in your life with how passive aggressive you are... considering up until this point I have been nice and respectful to you... only offering my opinion and point of view... as that is what you will get from everyone when you post here.
My post about the things people learn was a list of many things...most of those things we no longer need depending on where you live and your culture.
but I was merely going back to a time when thoes things were essential knowledge. It is a lot to learn... but if one even in America wishes to live off the land (and there are people who choose to) these are things they would need to learn.
And for you information even in this day and age learning small amounts of knowledge of plants could be very helpful... such as what berries are safe to eat (and other safe to eat plants)... and what plant is good for burn heals...and such. Im sorry if you do not have this information or dont consider it important if you are in a 1st world contry ...however i find this knowledge helpful and I teach my daughter these things as well as go out and eat what we find.
Animals dont need to learn things from an instruction book... and any mention of one to try and make my suggestion of animals learning is quite rediculouse... animals would learn by observation(some instincts as well)... people also learn by observation or an instruction manual if you have one.
My mention of childhood lasting longer is due to our brains.
We also stay with our parents longer to learn more before we set off into the world... this could be said about us now and our ansesters.
if you want my opinion on "magical date" id say that varies from person to person.
Im okay with pushing useless people off a cliff, IIN?
