Im forced to disgrace gay/bi/trans people.

I'm being brought up to disown gay/bi/trans people and think they are disguisting and dishonouring God, but I have a gay cousin and gay friend and I love them to bits. I cant even go to my cousins wedding bc he is marrying a man.

I agree that you should be who you want to be, despite peoples opinions, 223
I dont agree with being gay/trans/bi, but i accept them for who they are. 37

At least let them know you would've loved to be there.

Trust your own feelings. You have your own voice and thoughts, you are not your parents, you share the same dna but you are your own person.

talk to your family about it. if your cousin's getting married, and he's gay, obviously not all of your family is against it.

Eh, fuck ‘em. Once you’re old enough I’d cut ties; I wouldn’t want that in my family.

Then again I’m gay so, of course I’m bias.

If your current situation is that you have no option but to live with homophobic religious nuts, then I guess you just have to accept that. If you find this situation very difficult to deal with - and I know I would - then the best thing you can do is try to work towards getting away as soon as you can. It may be necessary for you to bite your tongue and listen to the BS in silence in order to maintain some degree of domestic tranquillity. My experience is that it's impossible to persuade religious whack-jobs that they're wrong, so there's no point in even trying. Maybe they'll see sense someday, but it's not your job to try to make that happen.

Send your cousin a nice card and say you're sorry you can't be with them on their special day. As a relative, he's probably well aware of the situation, and he won't blame you.

If you agree with how you're being brought up then agree with it, but if not then don't. Its as simple as that. Stand up for what you believe in.

I acept this kind of people IF, and only IF, they are respectful. My aunt is lesbian, and she lives with another woman, and they are respectful people and workers. The queers and LGBT associated people are so disrespectful to other people opinions and beliefs that i only want distancie from them
