GSDs or rottys are prob my favourite. My first and third dogs were GSD mixes. Second was a rotty mix. Such beautiful natured animals.
Yeah. Low maintenance is good. Those are mostly active breeds Idk much about dalmatians. Parrish had one when he was a kid. She had her throat ripped out by another dog and they had to shoot her :(
I dogsat a schnauzer once. She seemed fairly docile. Idk if that's the norm. She was a sweet lil teddy bear.
Could you afford to get two to keep each other company? Not an easy thing to do, I know.
I've been thinking for a while of getting a rescue greyhound. They're low maintenance (though you need a specialist vet), only require 20ish mins of exercise a day, they're sleeping potatoes the rest of the time. Seems like a great dog for a working household. It's annoying, cos right now, I have the time to settle in a new dog, but I'm not financially where I would like to be before I take on the responsibility. Someone is home here like 90% of the time, so I'd feel ok getting only one dog, but if it were my dog, I'd want to train it and settle it in. Still gotta have a chat with a rehoming agency to see if a greyhound would actually be a good fit, too.
Maybe the rottweiler was the dog I thought I remembered. I think it was waaay back when we first met and you were living with your dad...possibly your mom's dog? I may be misremembering. Was years ago hehe.
That's awful, that poor dog. I bet he was pretty tore up about it.
I'm thinking exactly that, of getting two. I feel like I'd be much less worried about leaving them at home if they could keep each other company. The extra cost would be worth it, and hopefully we will be at a point where we can afford it by then. I may not get two of the same, but the dalmatian will definitely be my main dog.
You should definitely get one! I looked at greyhounds after you mentioned that, and honestly, they look like a good breed for me to consider as well. I've always thought that they looked a little weird, but I think I'd get over that lol.
The rottweiler and australian shepherd were WAY back in the day. I was probably around 5 years old lol. My dad has had a few dogs when I still lived with him, that's probably what you are remembering. One of them was a redbone hound rescue dog. She had some bad habits, because of how old she was when we got her, which were quite annoying sometimes.
IM DONE WITH PEOPLE BEING AFRAID OF ''PIT BULLS ''
