Im depressed during summer, but euphoric the rest of the year

Since the beginning of summer ive been extremely depressed, and i haven't been able to sleep because of the heat and stress. Its a few days into autumn now, and when i woke up this morning I was extremely cold, but it was the best ive ever felt in a long time. Everything is perfect now.
Is this normal?

  • There are seasonal affective disorders but most are depression in winter...you sound like it is the heat that bothers you..in other words you aren't depressed , you are miserable...I know they sound the same but there not...can you get an air conditioner for your room

  • I'm with you on this one. I don't like summer. We don't have air conditioning and it's hard to sleep at night. We have very few really hot days but the humidity makes it worse. I have friends who live in an area where it gets up to 113 degrees in summer. I dont mind visiting them but happy to get home. I'm happiest when it's cool and raining.

  • I'm with you. I don't care for heat and bright light. Bugs, dumpsters smelling up the area, flies, sweaty people too close, ect. I live in the pacific northwest, the nice cool bedroom of america.

  • Summer is miserably hot and humid even when I am not exerting myself, and the mosquitoes can be abominable if it is a wet year. I have never been able understand why so many people seem to favor summer.

  • Hmm.. Not very normal. When we exposed to the sun. Our brain produce chemical that called serotonin. Which make us feel happy. I dont know why u feel depress on summer. Doesnt sound right. But I might be wrong.. Lol
