They don't contradict anything actually. It's just more information that we have now about gender. X and Y chromosomes are still a thing and they still determine sex. Gender is a social construct. It's not "women in HR" that have concluded this either. There's a good reason why governments recognize transgender people. Stop living in the past. I know it's hard to accept but they're real.
