A philosophy lecturer once said while being discharged from the military he was being psych-examined. The Doc asked him if there was anything bothering him. He then asked 'Yeah, why are we born to suffer and die?' She says, "I can prescribe you Valium," he replies, "No thanks, I drink."
I studied philosophy and the "human condition," and I was the same way at the same age. I think it may be normal for intelligent people who may not believe in God--or that just could be how I perceive myself.
Anyway, it's normal, but don't do it. You'll miss out on living for fear of dying. If you're not dashing out the door now to go live, read up on all the wise people who warned against such distractions. "The Good Life," IMO, is about being generous with yourself, and being driven to accomplish your life's goals. Channel that fear of death into fear of personal failure, and channel that fear of personal failure into a positive drive to do something great.
Don't make the mistake of having so much free time on your hands that you 'crawl up inside your own head' and make yourself useless.
