Is it normal that my friends were playing a drinking game at my shower after I told them I disapproved? I got over it and just let the drinking commence, but is it also normal that my best friend used my baby shower to hook back up with her ex gf, whom my mom heard talking shit about me, and for my friend to be stuck up her ass the rest of the party; and for no one to really talk to me much and my mom to get pissed off at everyone and walk off. Are people usually so self-absorbed at baby showers? If it weren't for the gifts and pink decorations, you wouldn't have known a baby was involved

    ^ Sorry I disagree, the OP has the right to be pissed off, it was a baby shower not a hens night I'm surprised no one hired a stripper ffs

    I disagree with the first commenter as well. That was not a normal baby shower. A baby shower is supposed to be about the baby and the mother so you weren't being selfish. And why would they plan activities (drinking games) you can't even participate in at your own party?

    I agree. The shower is for the mother-to-be.

    The guests sound rather selfish.

    although personally i'd question having any alcohol at a baby shower in the first place. i mean why do that if the mother-to-be can't partake?

    and who the hell can't survive without booze anyway?

    Self absorbed is not appreciating that people threw you a baby shower and got you gifts in the first place. They were there for you, but you aren't their whole life. Sounds like you and your mom need to grow up, put your big girl panties on and be grateful they would do something for you at all. It isn't a requirement for people to throw a baby shower. Lighten up.
