Iiok to hang nude paintings on walls at home?

I have some nude paintings which were hanging on bedroom walls. Two of them are of my wife painted by an artist. These were hanging on our bedroom walls. The last time when my mother in law and young unmarried sister of my wife visited us. My MIL did not like paintings especially of wife. She advised to remove from walls. Should we oblige her or is it normal to display nude paintings including those of wife?

    If your wife is okay with the paintings (of her) being on the walls, then it's fine to have them on the walls. This is the house of you and your wife, not of your MIL.

    Beauty of human body in art is fine I see nothing bad with it and its your house you can have whatever pictures you want on your walls..so completely normal

    i used to paint nudes its fun they just dont sell very well.

    I work with property damage, and see all sorts of stuff. People do have nude paintings and portraits on walls, usually in bedrooms or not where visitors go, however..Did have a mansion-style house that had nudes, of the wife and others, on the sunken living room walls. Very well-done, I'll say that..Owner stopped by, I gave him an update on replacement costs, and he directly asked "What about the skin paintings of my wife and other models?"

    Told him I wasn't an art appraiser, only there to price out what was damaged. He said ok, then gave me a look..The "guy look", saying "Hot body on her, isn't it? That's why I had the nudes done". I agreed, as professional as I could be, but in the back of my mind, thinking..You lucky bastard..

    Even before I got married my husband made it clear he wanted some nude paintings of me. I wasn't wild about it and we compromised. The large landscape in the living room was actually a nude painting of me laying down that got a landscape painted over to mostly hide me. Once you notice me its all you can notice but most people never say anything. Even family that have seen it don't know that the nude women hidden in the painting is me. I really love it.
