Is it normal wishing companies would update their scare tactics?

So I go in to work yesterday and there are two asst. managers there. They explain the task for the evening and say it has to be done 100% accurate because the International national state regional town local manager is stopping by. I do not know what his title is but some long winded corporate BS.

I asked, "doesn't that guy stop here once a week anyways?" I mean it is about once a week that they claim some big huge scary powerful corporate brasshole is coming by.

One of the asst. managers then said, "This one has never been here before". Oh well, damn, it must have been some OTHER International national state regional town local manager.

Ok so suppose this Interna... whatever guy does stop. Shouldn't he be used to the fact that our work place is always a mess?

I guess just hearing the SAME scare lines being spoken over and over just gets boring. Don't they have someone sitting around who can come up with new lines?

    I guess the real question is "why do they need scare tactics just to get people to do their job right." So, so glad I manage motivated professionals.
