most of the stuff people believe about the weak mindedness, stupidity, or whatever, of cult members, has been proven false by the science of psychology. Most of them are just like us, and like us are swayed by the culture we are in, the people we are with or admire, and a need to belong.
even so I admit I am dismayed at times, only because I know I will have little in common with someone I might have to be around a lot. Or who might have influence over me, like a boss.
IIN when I discover someone is a Scientologist I think less of them.
