Do anyone's votes actually stay after page refreshing anymore ?? is it normal síte ówner got butthurt from being trolled and removed the ability for most users rather than remove the ability of trolls?
Oh, I meant thumbs up/down. I actually just saw 1 thumb up on another post, but it seems I cannot upvote specific users (from any account or IP address), or give negative votes anymore (I was able to downvote someone, but not past 0).

I am now finding that comments I have NOT thumbed up are marked green, as if I had thumbed them up. I cannot undo it.

Software Architecture for social media sites often include an isolation level that is applied to each user based on AI heuristics. This makes inappropriate conversation easier to manage, but also makes the site(s) less lively. Udi is a smart with software design, and undoubtedly knows about the concept. What you are describing would indicate that your isolation level just got bumped by a notch.

Why not? Profile pics are a basic feature on any forum. If it's to try to get more gold subscribers, it won't work.
As a former long-term gold subscriber who left then rejoined and bought gold after you changed things and then promptly stopped, it's easy to say why I stopped buying gold...access to the unmodded section, more valued user input and less shitposts. Why did you take that away? You fucked up. Put stronger troll controls on, like simply verifying a valid email to sign up. Then, let your dedicated, good users do the groundwork by doing some filtering in the unmodded. Instead, you went and limited comments severly to try to get rid of trolls but that just hurts real (or potential) real users and makes most say 'fuck it'. You took away everything that makes people stay but did nothing to deter people trolling the site. Simple curiosity about what is in the unmodded section will draw and keep more gold subscibers than yanking away profile pics will. There is free image hosting and messaging apps, ya know. It's too easy to get around that yet also too annoying to have to get around it to keep new users interested. Use your fucking head for something other than hat rack, bud. You have a potential moneymaker but you are throwing it away with every stupid choice you make.

I didn't get rid of profile pics because it's hard or expensive, but because it was abused and I'm sick of seeing dick & gore pics while cleaning them up. It's a choice I made, and I'm sorry that you're suffering because of it, but that's just how it's going to be.

If the "problem" is as you say, with explicit pics (and who cares, you're supposed to be 18+ to use this site anyway), why not do the easier and more fair thing and ban that user or put in stronger troll guards, ban specific users who break the rules or are too offensive? Instead you punish all good users and yet do nothing to stop the troll issue. Sooooooo fucking simple to just require email verification and would cut out a lot of trolling and by cutting that out, you keep good users and lose a lot of the problems. Is this not obvious? How fucking dumb are you? Are you trying to win the award for most potential wasted on a single website? You fucking dumbass, wake up.

Not really complaining, it just wasn't there a week ago. I don't like any subject being forbidden, especially on a site dedicated to being able to talk about the taboo.
Yes, this is the policy we've had here on IIN for many years. I've tried to be as pro free speech as I possibly can. But, these topics are being posted about way too often, and in an extremely repetitive way. The questions have been asked and answered many times over now and it's become disruptive. They're also very disturbing topics to many people and lead to heated bickering all over the site. Additionaly, I think the vast majority of people posting about that stuff know it's not normal already. They're looking for validation, and I don't think we should give it to them anymore.
The only thing I have to say about those topics is that people who do that shit are wrong. There are too many fucked up people on the planet.
I guess there's not much to say about them but the bluntness with which they have forbidden them seems kind of rude.
We are talking about people who claim to perpetrate those things, not the subject in general.
What about victims? If you actually cared about victims you'd realise it can be pretty painful for them to have to see these idiots make posts casually encouraging people to rape children.

Well, I do think you're right about victims, but the problem is that most of the time it's trolls or possible perpetrators posting on here.

I read every single Feedback email. I don't constantly check the site for posts like this however. So posts like this may not get my attention for a long time, if at all.
Alright but we never know what you're actually going to change so we usually just accept it and find a work around.
did you change the site rules? because there are some things that are against it that you now approve of, why is that? And how come we can't effectively report certain users for breaking the rules?
