Is it normal to write about characters that don't age gradually?

For the most part, my characters don't age gradually. They experience distinct life stages. I don't know why but I find it fun to write my characters that way. I am looking forward to seeing how long it takes for someone to notice. :)

    Tell me something.

If your possibilities are limited by your consciousness and scope of view can your "state of being" change the experience you're having therefore your reality in any conceivable way?

If your main goal in life is to cheat, get money, get bitches no matter who you have to step on are you a materialistic narcissist or playing into Social Darwinism?

If your options are unlimited because the permutations of each vary indefinitely is each and every decision we make meaningless since it has already been made?

So a floating timeline? Lots of books and TV shows do that too, so it's pretty normal.
