Is it normal to worry about syrian refugees
The vast majority of the refugees are good folk but it would be SO easy for the Islamic State to slip in countless agents among the millions of war refugees.

Well, there obviously are islamists and just unacceptably conservative religious people among these asylum seekers. It is not a conjecture, it is a fact. The hardest thing will be separating them from sane, non- or barely religious people.
Hopefully these extremists will not be granted asylum in the long term. But I doubt it. Barbarism will be accepted in the name of humanism, I'm afraid.
Funny thing is, I am very 'left' on the political spectrum, and still see the naivity in just accepting everyone without checking. I think I'm the only one.
I had to downvote your comment because:

You seem pretty tyrranical if you think people (yes! They're people like you) deserve to get left in war-torn countries and face the imminent threat of death just because of their personal religious beliefs. Of course, it's easy to be heartless when you're sitting on a fat ass on a couch in a first world country.
If their religious beliefs are extreme (homophobic, misogynistic and tyrannical toward non-moslems and the wrong kind of moslems) - as they in many cases are - then yes, they are not welcome in civilized societies.
Their religious beliefs are not personal. Beating up other refugee kids for not eating the right food is not personal, it's trying to impose your ridiculous way of life on everybody else.
People who think that a psychopath in the sky commands them to live a certain way are not like me. Not at all.
