Is it normal to wonder why has the lesbian population increased?

Well there certainly are much more Gay And Bi Women today that i have noticed, and i would really say that many of the women out there had been very badly abused by men at one time which is very sad. It is very obvious why many of us men can't meet a real good woman anymore today, and we're Not To Blame at all. There are many of us innocent good men out there looking for a woman to share our life with, and it is very sad that the Lesbian Population has increased so rapidly over the years which certainly has a lot to do with it. Like i just had mentioned, why would i ever Blame myself since much more women are into other women now?, Obviously Not. And i have other friends of mine that feel the same way which i don't blame them at all, and in a Lesbian Relationship many women can also be very abusive to their Partners as well by the way.

I think it's not true, the lesbian population didn't increase. It's the same percent of people it has always been. However nowadays it's easier to come forward with it. In the past lesbians were mostly hiding their sexualities, afraid of negative reactions from society. Those negative reactions have disappeared, it's far more widely accepted. But the fact that lesbians in the past were hiding their sexualities doesn't mean they weren't lesbians. They just kept it a secret.

exactly what I was going to say, but I think you worded it better than I would have.

  • I remember reading that there are actually more homosexual males than homosexual females in this world, and that is with the negative stigma of being a homosexual man along side the glorification of lesbianism.

So just imagine if there was no stigma or glorification of gays and lesbians, and I would be willing to bet even far more men would be homosexual.

"far more men would be homosexual."

I agree with the rest of your post but I don't think being homosexual is a lifestyle choice. They're born that way.

      • Meh, yes and no. I may be wrong. I should of phrased it better. I do think more men would be homosexual due to the stigma not taking place and men would be able to experiment to know their sexuality, but I meant more men would engage in homosexuality.

I don't think it is a choice, but I think it "can" be a choice. Obviously there are those that will definitely not like it, obviously, and obviously there are those that are just homosexual in its entirety, but I do believe that when something has a stigma, less are able to experience it, and if less are able to experience it, what would happen if they all of a sudden got to with no backlash? Surely many would prefer it, just like many would not.

I am not sure if I am phrasing this well.

Maybe you meant that more of them would come out of the closet or at least stop repressing their desires.

Wow. I'm a straight woman and I'M offended. Why do you assume that a few bad men could be the reason for homosexual women? They've always been gay, they're just less afraid to show it now because they don't get the old Salem witch treatment anymore. That and the growing population of people in general makes for more of them known. It's not like that means there aren't enough girls to go around so quit whining. I was abused and it didn't turn me gay. You have no right to assume that about anyone. A few lesbians DOES NOT mean that there are no good girls out there. You don't get to just "look for a woman" you're supposed to find love, not a married slave. Lesbians and gay men gave just the same right to love as you. Couples of any kind can be abusive, but it is less common in same sex couples because there's more understanding. Just reading your post has put you as a sexist, homophobic, cheavonist pig who is probly single due to their nature of thinking, probable creepiness, and possible ugliness. Don't blame lesbians for yourself being unattractive

I've certainly noticed alot more in recent years but that could be due to any number of things, I can't confidently say that they've increased in number or I've just been able to identify them better

There is no "rapid increase", I think most people just become more open about it.

You are correct that you shouldn't blame yourself if a woman is a lesbian. I'm not sure why you would ever blame yourself, but well done for working out the obvious: you are nothing to do with what a girl's sexual orientation is. It's not exactly something that lies within your locus of control, is it?

I cannot say I've noticed the "rapid increase" you're talking about.
