Perhaps you are right. I have three kitties. I prefer their idividual nature-traits. Though, in saying that my cats all play fetch. They are intelligent creatures, I don't so much value obedience in an animal. I'd rather let them be themselves. Hmm, it seems that dogs are limited in terms of *personality*...
The comparison to lawn gnomes is just sinister. I have never encountered an endearing one yet! Yeuch!!
