Is it normal to wonder if someone is listening while you're talking to them?

Dude, I feel this too , the truth to me is that people don't really listen. Especially people close to you. How many times do you have to tell people that "I told you that the other day you weren't listening." Also people don't understand the rules of conversation. Once some one is speaking to you, you stop and listen, when they're finished you then comment on what they just said so they understand that you were listening. Thats that connection part everyone misses I feel. People are so quick to by pass what you just said so they can hear themselves talk. never commenting on what you just said.. pisses me off especially in relationships

I do recognize that. I have had it for years and thought I wasn't interesting enough, other people are cooler.
Then I started to do excersises and felt better about myself. Suddenly people listened better, laughed more to me etc.
Now I'm feeling worse again, and people look like they don't care anymore.
But I isn't them who have changed but me. I pay attention to everything they do, every comment I make. I'm way to alert on seeing things.
I know I get along with people so I should't worry so much

Most people don't like to listen. Some, on the other hand, enjoy listening. I'm not much of a talker and I love listening to people. But that might be because I'm sick of people not listening to me.. Ironic?

Yes that's normal. I think the same thing. It seems like people are not very good listeners a lot of the time. I make it a point to be a better listener for that very reason.
