Is it normal to want to wear costumes at 18?

For some reason, in the Halloween of last year, seeing some people with costumes made me really want to wear one. But not any costume: cute and fluffy ones, like animals, unicorns, pokemons, stuff like that.

The thing is, I'm an 18 year old guy and I am quite shy. I constantly think if it would be weird. I feel like I have an inner child that never got the chance to wear silly and funny things, but at the same time I always think that it would be weird or even creepy seeing from other people's eyes.

What are your thoughts on this?

Yeah, but I believe cosplay is to roleplay a character you would like to be or relate to. I kinda don't want that, I want more like showing my inner child.

    You’re still young
    It’s not creepy till you’re 30
Besides I think it’s cute 😊 screw everyone who says otherwise

One day you'll be dead. Go get yourself a fluffy unicorn outfit right now and wear the crap out of it, and ignore anyone who makes fun of you. Have fun dude!

The thing is, wearing a costume would actually make me happy. For real, like a life goal or something. I know I'm giving way too much thought onto this, but idk that's just how it is..?

When I was a teenager I dressed up as the Ancient Greek Goddess Artemis, and went trick or treating in my neighborhood, because I could.

Go to a gay club bro, they'll probably accept you there

Dude, it's Halloween. You can dress however you like. My boyfriend dressed as a Squid Girl from Splatoon one year and the next dressed like a female Pokemon trainer. It was fun.
    :)

Yeah I never got the chance to enjoy Halloween and in my country doesn't have much of a presence as in America for example, but yeah, it's a time where I can "dress however I'd like", thanks!

If it's just for Halloween, people understand and may find it funny if you wear fluffy things. Any other time of year, not so much. Guy who used to go to the sports bar came in for their Halloween night (when the bartender girls dressed incredibly sexy) dressed like a woman, in a skirt, pearls, etc. Guys looked, but figured it's Halloween, and he's being funny. This was not, btw, a small guy. He was bulky and bearded.

Until, that is..A few weeks later, when he came in wearing a dress, the same pearls, pump heels, the works. That's when we figured out..He's a cross dresser, and coming to a sports bar is not the best idea for him. Even the bartender girls had a hard time serving him and not laughing.

If I ever do this it's going to be at an event or with friends. I'm way too shy to just randomly show up outside with a costume without context. The thing is, would my friends find it weird my costume preferences..?

To be completely honest, I’ve never met a guy who wants to dress up as a unicorn for Halloween, and I’m sure some people (mostly the guys) will give you crap for it, but if it’s something that makes you happy, then do it. I actually think it’s really cute ❤️😊

Yeah I don't think it's very common, that's why I'm kinda worried, but yeah thanks!

Do be worried. It’s good to be different.
