Is it normal to want to be referred to by gender neutral pronouns but feel odd?

I'm a biological female and I've never identified particularly well with just being male or female.

I have a "feminine" figure and it's obvious that I'm female to look at me from the neck up too.

I've also been thinking of asking to be referred to by gender-neutral pronouns, but words like "hir", "zir" etc sound kind of silly to me [That's the question I actually want to ask, but there's not enough room in the box above].

Obviously the important thing is that people are treated to and referred to by what they identify as.

Is It Normal?

  • I also feel neither female nor male& enjoy androgyny, but sadly i think it's a lot of nonsense because male and female are biological sexes whereas everything else is a gender identity, and there are so many variations. So I wouldn't be offended by pronouns that refer to sex, because that's just how nature works... rather than correct anyone, I just take whatever they perceive me as. I understand it is frustrating some times though

  • So like say them or they or you? Although some may call you "it" which most find offensive. If I was asked do this for a person I would respect that.

  • EXACT SAME THING HERE>

Was also born female, have hourglass figure, dont identify with either gender. I usually wear a baggy shirt or jacket to hide girl chest and waist, cut hair short and only have one ear pierced, but wear makeup.

Usually I ask people to just refer to me by my name rather then using any pronoun, gender specific or otherwise.

  • Pronouns refer to the pair of gentiles you have. Nothing more.

If you associate certain pronouns with certain sexist stereotypes, I would encourage you to leave whatever enclosed environment you're currently trapped in. Different cultures have radically different ideas of "masculine" and "feminine," and within each of those cultures there have been plenty of people who did not fit those expectations.

Now, if you feel you would prefer having a penis and testicles to having a vagina and breasts, or if you want all five, then by all means, change your gender and your pronouns.

  • Maybe your right. There probably should be a title for people who don't identify with either gender.

Perhaps you should become a doctor.
