I'm almost 50 and the past few years I've become attracted to women, especially from watching lesbian porn. I've never been with a woman, yet I want to, but I just can't make myself. I don't know whether to just ask a woman that I'm attracted to, or sign up for lesbian date sites, or see a counselor because I should be attracted to men.

Save yourself the money of having a counsellor tell you that you're not mentally ill.
You need to recognise that the LGBT community's always been significantly smaller than the straight one, so bumping into a woman who likes women isn't exactly something that happens often. Even ladies who came out before their teenage years misread straight women. From what I've heard and experienced, most couples meet online or through introductions.
I heard "She" is a decent app for meeting queer women.

A counselor is not going to make you straight. There's nothing wrong with liking women. Go to a dating site and try to find a woman.

You ARE a lesbian, you're just a lesbian-in-denial. Yes it's normal. Find an attractive woman either in person or on a dating site or whatever and date her.
Well I never considered myself lesbian but a night out with my oldest friend who is lesbian changed all that it was eye opening experience and would certainly recommend trying it if nothing else try it once if you don't like it don't go it again you will never know otherwise I now consider myself bi sexual
