Is it normal to want to ban literally every fake ass famous pop artist today?

I fucking hate today’s music so much that I really want all of these artists to just burn in hell; anyone who auto tuned their voice to the point where they sound like a robot, anyone who uses a drum machine, people who don’t write their own music, modern rappers, people who produce “music” with NO temporal distortion (they boost all of the instruments to the same volume to give the illusion of louder music, while also destroying all the diversity in the process.) I’m a musician who cares about where music is going, and it’s not going to a place where I feel; especially the older generations, would actually consider music. If you comment below, add your age and your opinion. I’m 13 going on 14, and I feel like music today is just a shitshow of white noise, bad artists, and fake talent. It’s just sound without a purpose.

I'm 23. I agree when it comes to popular music. It all sounds so generic and boring. It baffles me when I see people actually enjoying it.

The word literally is literally being overused way too much these days.

Go to the library, and checkout some books on the history of popular music. Learn you some stuff and thangs child!

    • I only used literally once which in that context would mean “no exception” although normally I’d agree with you on that, but here it makes sense

Yeah, but how do you determine who is and who isn't a fake?

  • You still have a lot to learn, kid.

There are a lot of great bands/songwriters out there who have integrity and passion.

    I'm 23.

I agree hard. I actually like a lot of old pop music (like 90s/2000s old), but today's pop music is so shit. I turn on a "pop" radio station now, and every song sounds exactly the same, and it's all so generic and wishy-washy. It all sounds like it came off talent shows like X-Factor.

I hate those talent shows too. They don't produce/find real musicians, they find someone who can merely sing ok. There's more to being a talented musician than just the voice, you need creativity. If you look at all the ICONIC musicians, most of them were raised in musical households and developed that passion VERY young. It's not something you just decide you do at 21 because you can sing ok.

    • I’m huge into AC/DC, GnR, queen, Metallica, even some Alternative stuff when I’m up to it. I love that music. It’s not all the same. It’s out in public that I have to listen to the sounds my generation calls “music”. And I can’t even tell the difference between most genres today. They’re all writen by two people. Lukasz Gottwald, and max Martin. The people who “sing” today don’t do anything except try to keep a pretty face and try to keep their fan base from finding out they’re all bulimic 40 year olds who just pretend they’re still eighteen. We don’t control the record labels anymore, they take all the risk out of bringing a new artist into the world because it cost around a million dollars to just put them out ther, so they MAKE us like them. They do this by putting the music and it’s “artist” in movies, magazines, ads, billboards, until your friends are playing it around the clock. By this point it’s your new favorite song. How many times has this happened to anyone. My guess is more then once. We don’t control them, they control us. Most people like this just to fit into a croud when they don’t realize it’s just little talent with a bunch of computers and fake shit.

I'd say it depends on the artist. There's a lot of popular music that's garbage, and a lot that has integrity.
