Is it normal to want so much affection but always push others away?

I just want hugs and love but often push my family away and not let them in. I want to be loved and be affectionate but always show the opposite when push comes to shove.

Is It Normal?

        • I'm more of a dog guy myself however I haven't met to many cats. Some of my extended family have dogs and I love seeing them.

          • I grew up with lots of animals, but the majority of my life experience was with dogs. Siamese cats are definitely considered one of the more dog-like, active, affectionate, trainable and loyal breeds. Siamese cats are laps cats, and although I have just one cat, the ideal is to have two.

I really love cats, but I don't say I'm a cat person, I say I'm a Siamese cat person. I love having a dog, and a cat, but if I can't have both I'm so glad to have a Siamese cat!

Dogs are awesome, and I generally don't like, or trust people who don't like dogs.

  • yes. it's very hard to accept affection. you must hold yourself back. and also learn to show affection youself!

  • I think it’s totally normal. In my head I want affection sometimes but then avoid it in real life. I get it.

  • do you push people away because you have a fear of rejection? your family will always be there.
