Is it normal to want an "online only" relationship?

Is it nornal to be interested in an entirely online relationship with someone I would never meet in person? I've never had a problem meeting women, but due to an injury I can no longer use my left arm and find it difficult to "fit in" normal social situations,I do everything else online so why not? Perhaps in the future all relationships will be online? Opinions welcome..keep it civilised :-)

  • Say, what if it turnd out that all that time you were spending thinking it was a girl, he happens to be a dude?

  • Online friendships are great and all but being face to face is even better.

  • how can you appropriately emotionally invest in someone that way?

  • It is absolutely normal, although being disabled or disfigured should not be the only reason for you to do so.

In fact i prefer only online relations too,but in my case i have genuine reasons for not wanting to commit in real life relations again.

I get what i need from online relationships and make sure the other person is also cared for. It`s a win-win situation...and when the fun is over - i just move on.

  • Not normal or healthy. What if you both really like each other, do you tell her you don't want her in person?

    • Don't be such an ignoramus. You both simply turn on your web cams and watch each other masturbate. Fun, endearing, and very very naughty. Convenient as well. You should try it!

    • That is the reason behind online relationships.

Most people never WANT to meet the other person in real life and as long as one is ALWAYS honest upfront, both parties know where they stand and have no further expectations.

      • I guess I can't understand this but if they both acknowledge that's what they want, that should be fine. I just see it as one party wants to leave it as online only while the other may want to meet and then that would be a problem.

  • It's fine to feel this way, and I agree with flawdagirl and disthing.

  • I see your point, but do you believe that one thing may not lead to another and you develop the desire to meet? I am sorry to hear about your injury, maybe you are suffering from a lack of confidence and you may be able to move on from such a tragic and unfortunate occurrence. Either way, I think it is normal. :)
