Is it normal to want a piece of the building when it closes?

The store location I've been working at since 2006 is closing down. Gonna be transferring to another store, but I want to keep something from that building as a memory. I like working there and want something from there that only that store has(the unique directory on the wall, one of the signs, or something else). Is it normal? Should I just not bother?

    I would say keep something.
You can always toss it out later on if it really gets to be a hassle keeping it but if you do NOT take something, you will wish you had.

Speaking of, I wish I had copies of some of the photos when I was a kid and we lived in our old town hose.

I don't think this is weird at all, there is nothing wrong with wanting to keep a memento.

Twelve years is a significant part of anyone's life, so I can understand your desire to have a memento.

I have an old roll of wallpaper from my childhood home in my closet.
