Is it normal to want a career based off of a video game?

I want to be a mechanical engineer because of a game called Dead Space. A part of me wants to become a teacher because I like English but I am afraid of being in front of kids.

Is It Normal?

  • Normal but not recommended.

I'm an engineering student and I'll have you know that the number of hours spent studying in a week isn't something to be taken lightly.

  • Inspiration comes in all forms. Are you in high school yet? Maybe you could talk to a guidance counselor there about your interests. They might have some suggestions as to which careers would suit you best and which classes you should enroll in to prepare yourself for college.

  • Like how I wanna be (the very best) Pokemon trainer!
    Or...
A swordsperson who fights demons with a Sun God/Goddess wolf!

Or stuff! But part of me wants to be a manga-ka. I like English and Art.

Getting in front of kids is easy (for me)! Here's a tip: Talk about video games in front of them and say, "What's the spelling of 'Pikachu'?" And BAM! You just taught them Eng-- er... JAPANESE!
